Howard Ruse Associates offers a full range of services to building owners, insurance companies and loss adjusters from preliminary inspection, further investigation, crack-monitoring and laboratory testing, to the design of remedial work schemes and contract administration, with comprehensive technical reports at every stage that get straight to the heart of the matter. Our aim is to balance the reasonable expectations of the claimant with any commercial restrictions set out in the policy to provide the most economic technical solution that restores the building to its previous condition. We seek to progress the claim at maximum reasonable speed whilst ensuring an economical solution is achieved. From the onset, we produce an action strategy plan, with timescales, which are amended as the claim progresses and additional information obtained. Where feasible, we will provide a budget estimate of costs for the building works.

The practice has specialist knowledge of foundation problems in London and the South-East with a record of successfully dealing with many hundreds of subsidence damage cases, liaising with all the major Loss Adjusting organisations, over 30 years.

For the home owner who finds new cracks or distortion to their building and is concerned about possible subsidence, we will carry out a preliminary inspection and produce a structural assessment report. We will advise you if it is appropriate to make an insurance claim and, in many cases, our fee can be reclaimed from the insurance company.
